Demographics Survey (DS)

What are people's basic characteristics?

The Demographics Survey (DS) is a 4-question measure of people’s basic characteristics. The questions measure five variables including age, gender, additional gender responses, race/ethnicity, and country of origin. This survey can be used to explore relationships between demographics and variables like risk-taking tendencies, social connection, or mental health. Past research suggests that people who identify as women tended to experience greater social connection than those that identified as men (Umberson et al., 2022).
