Bergen Social Media Addiction Scale (BSMAS)

What is your relationship with your social media?

The Bergen Social Media Addiction Scale (BSMAS) is a self-report questionnaire designed to assess problematic social media use. The BSMAS consists of six items scored on a 5-point Likert scale indicating participants' self-report regarding their social media usage—higher scores indicating greater levels of social media addiction. The BSMAS has demonstrated good reliability and validity and has been used in studies on social media addiction in various populations. The scale provides a valuable tool for researchers and clinicians interested in understanding the extent to which individuals may be experiencing problems related to their social media use.
